Fehlerbehebung und häufige Fragen

Troubleshooting and FAQ für Homing auf macOS.

Stand: 11. September 2026

1. Bevor Sie eine Meldung erstellen

  4. Lesen Sie das Benutzerhandbuch (Englisch).

2. Häufige Fragen

Warum landen meine AirPods immer wieder beim falschen Gerät?
Das Menü meldet „No paired AirPods found“.
Standard ist ⌃⌥A.
„Launch at Login“ verlangt eine Bestätigung.

Homing troubleshooting and FAQ

Effective: September 11, 2026

1. Before you file a report

  1. Check that your AirPods or headphones are already paired with this Mac under System Settings > Bluetooth. Homing only shows paired devices and does not pair new ones.
  2. Check System Settings > Privacy & Security > Bluetooth: the switch for "Homing" must be on. Relaunch the app after changing it.
  3. Make sure you run the latest version, from the Mac App Store or as the latest installer. Only the latest version receives fixes.
  4. Read the User Guide.

2. Frequently asked questions

Why do my AirPods keep ending up on the wrong device?
AirPods follow whichever Apple device last played audio. macOS lets you turn that off per Mac: System Settings > Bluetooth > ⓘ next to your AirPods > "Connect to This Mac" > "When Last Connected to This Mac". Many people choose this so the AirPods stop jumping to the Mac during the day. The price is that bringing them back becomes a manual trip through the Bluetooth menu. Homing is that trip, reduced to one click or one keystroke. It works with "Automatically" too, for the moments when the automatic switch does not happen.
The menu says "No paired AirPods found".
The device has never been paired with this Mac, or Bluetooth access is off. Pair it once through System Settings > Bluetooth, then click the Homing icon again.
Clicking a device flashes red.
The connection attempt failed. Typical causes: the AirPods are in the case with the lid closed, they are connected to an iPhone that is actively using them, or they are out of range. Open the lid or put them in your ears and try again.
Microsoft Teams keeps using the MacBook speakers and microphone.
Homing sets the Mac's default output and microphone to the headphones when they connect. Zoom (with "Same as System"), FaceTime and calls in the browser follow immediately. Teams remembers the device you last picked in Teams itself: choose the headphones once under Teams > Settings > Devices, and from then on Teams switches to them automatically whenever Homing connects them.
The keyboard shortcut does nothing.
Another app or macOS already uses the combination. Choose Change Shortcut… in the menu; the recorder reports conflicts and lets you pick another one. The default is ⌃⌥A.
"Launch at Login" asks me to approve something.
macOS requires your approval for login items. Open System Settings > General > Login Items and enable Homing there.
I upgraded from "AirPods Switch".
Homing is the same app under a new name and a new identifier. macOS asks once more for Bluetooth access, and the preferred device has to be picked again. Remove the old "AirPods Switch.app" from /Applications.
